Laura Marcus-Bricca
Advisor Laura was the amazing Founder of RTE and played an important role in the lives of many Paly students. She also served as President until May 2018 prior to becoming an Advisor. We are gratedyk fir Laura's continuing support Laura was a Special Education teacher at Paly prior to moving to Sequoia Union High School District in Redwood City. She is a graduate of Santa Clara University and has an Education Specialist Credential focused in Special Education and Teaching from San Jose State University. |
Kim Diorio
Advisor Kim served on the Board as a founding member and as Principal of Paly and later served as President from 2018-2020. She is an experienced educator and student advocate who proudly served as the Principal of Palo Alto High School from 2013-2018. Kim joined the Palo Alto Unified School District working as a School Counselor at JLS Middle School and then Henry M. Gunn High School before becoming an assistant principal at Paly in 2007. Kim holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Masters of Science in Counseling and Human Relations from Villanova University, Villanova. Kim completed her Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Change from Fielding Graduate University, Santa Barbara, CA. A progressive leader, Kim is passionate about equity and access for all students, and innovation in education. Kim will always be a Viking! |
Miguel Fittoria
Advisor Born and raised in East Palo Alto to a mother from Mexico and a father from Nicaragua, Miguel is a member of the first class of Spanish Immersion students in PAUSD, graduating from Paly in 2008. At the University of Rochester, Miguel double-majored in Political Science and Psychology and stayed on to complete an M.S. in Human Development from the Warner School of Education. His own thesis work addressed the experiences of children in voluntary transfer programs (“VTP”) similar to the one that brought him to PAUSD as a student. A graduate of Foundation for a College Education's high school program, Miguel is the first to acknowledge the critical role that parents and mentors played in his own development. Miguel worked as the Program Director for DreamCatchers recognizing the need for a multi-faceted approach to tackling the opportunity gap, He is currently the Community Outreach Coordinator for PAUSD |
Ras Kebebew
2020-2021 Student Representative Ras is a Senior at Paly graduating in the Class of 2021. He began volunteering for RTE during 11th grade working on the backend and support projects for RTE. Ras is a student in the Social Justice Pathway. He brings his technical know how of video editing and graphic design skills to RTE. |
Emma Lin
2020-2021 Associated Student Body Representative Emma is a Senior at Paly graduating in the Class of 2021. She is currently the Senior Class President and tutors with Dreamcatchers. Emma will serve as a link to Paly's Associated Student Body and provide communications with the school staff. She has a record of supporting low income students in the Palo Alto community. |
Melina Soburg
2020-2021 Student Representative Melina is a senior at Paly graduating in the Class of 2021. She is currently a co-president of Paly's Key Club, an International community service organization. Melina is a student in Paly's Social Justice Pathway. Melina brings her skills as a planner, organizer and communicator to RTE. |
