Jose Delgadillo
University of California, Santa Cruz, Paly Class of 2016
I wish to continue my education after high school because I am interested in acquiring a career that would be sufficient enough for me to be able to repay the kindness that my parents have given to me over the last 17 years, and also for the years to come. Going to college would also mean gaining new opportunities such as careers that my parents couldn’t dream of having. This leads me to the point that a job could only get an individual so far, despite being mildly easier to obtain, and even if a person were to climb the employment ladder, they would reach a point in which a degree would be required to climb any further. In addition, earning a degree through college would be beneficial since it would allow me to find a career that pertains to the degree that was earned, which was a field of study that I chose to study. This is effectively allowing me to fulfill the dreams of both my parents and myself all in one goal, which is to attend college.
